CETI Team and Board

Both the CETI Continental Team and its Board of Directors are composed of individuals from diverse Latin American countries, educational backgrounds, and professional fields.

The CETI Continental team is composed of:

César Marques Lopes

Husband, father of two. Brazilian. Since 2000, he has worked in theological education. He earned his bachelor's and master's degrees in Theology at the Faculdade Teológica Sul Americana, where he also taught. He holds a PhD in Education (Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, USA). He is currently a visiting professor for the Doctorate in Theological Education at SETECA (Guatemala),and he coordinates the online Theology program at the Igreja Presbiteriana Independente do Brasil.


Ruth Padilla DeBorst

A wife of one and mother of many, Ruth Padilla DeBorst has been involved in theological formation for integral mission in her native Latin America and beyond for several decades. She is the Richard C. Oudersluys Associate Professor of World Christianity at Western Theological Seminary, and she also serves as coordinator of the International Fellowship for Mission as Transformation. Along with her husband, James, she lives in Costa Rica as a member of Casa Adobe, an intentional Christian Community with deep concern for right living in relation to the whole of creation. Her studies include a Bachelors in Education (Argentina), an MA in Interdisciplinary Studies (Wheaton College), and a PhD in Theology (Boston University).


Karen Elisa Montano

Salvadoran, eternal learner, and manager of educational communication processes. She holds a Master's degree in Communication and Educational Technologies (ILCE, Mexico) with a specialization in human resources, b-learning projects, and virtual learning environments. She has work experience in public administration and various consulting projects for the public and private sectors in Mexico, El Salvador, and Spain. She has been part of the group of professionals supporting the Christian University Movement (MUC) since 2013, and she serves as a member of the Board of Directors for the Biblical Union of El Salvador since 2018.


Victoria (Tori) Greaves

Californian and naturalized Peruvian, wife, and mother. She and her husband share a passion for the land and environmental rights of indigenous communities. She is the Director of Operations for INFEMIT (International Fellowship for Mission as Transformation) in addition to her work with CETI. She has a Bachelor's in Anthropology from Wheaton College, Illinois, and a master's in Interdisciplinary Theological Studies for Integral Mission from CETI and Carey Theological College.


Karen Beatriz Romero

An industrial engineer, she was born in El Salvador and lived in Guatemala for twelve years, where her son, Andrés, was born. Beatriz has contributed to the life and health of the CETI community since 2018 with her enthusiasm, sense of responsible stewardship of resources, and desire for excellence. 

 


Andrés López
Husband of Carla and father of three (Estuardo, Cristian, and Genesis). Born and raised in Guatemala City where he currently lives with his family, he has worked in various aspects of youth ministry in Zone 19 of the capital since he was very young. In partnership with his local church, he developed the community outreach project "Florecer," and supports the project through ongoing fundraising, program design, and implementation. He holds a degree in Ministerial Leadership from Kuyper College in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and a Master's degree in Sociology of Religion from the University of San Pablo in Guatemala. In his free time, he enjoys watching series and movies and playing video games, especially when he can share these activities with friends or family.

James (Santiago) Padilla DeBorst
PRESIDENT

Husband and father of six. Born in the United States, he has served for over 25 years in local development, first in Liberia and then in Central America as a missionary for the Christian Reformed Church of North America (CRCNA). He has been an adjunct professor of International Development at Eastern University's Cape Town campus in South Africa. He holds a PhD in Public Theology from Aurel Vlaicu Univeristy of Arad (Romania), a Master's degree in NGO Management from Regis University (Denver, Colorado), and a Master of Public Administration with a concentration in Economic and Political Development from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government (Cambridge, Massachusetts).


Vilma "Nina” Balmaceda
SECRETARY

Wife and mother of one. Nina holds a law degree from the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru and a Master's degree in International Peace Studies; a Master's degree in Government and International Studies; and a Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Notre Dame du Lac. Nina is a professor at Duke Divinity School and Director of the Center for Reconciliation. She is the current president of Peace and Hope International and serves on the boards of the Center for Public Justice and the Association for a More Just Society.


Ma. Alejandra Andrade
SECRETARY

Ecuadorian. Married to Frank and mother of José Andrés and Matías. Her work and ministerial experience has focused on accompanying faith communities in their commitment to holistic development, the pursuit of justice, and children. Her basic training is in sociology, and she holds Master's degrees in International Childhood Studies (King's College London) and Project Management (University for International Cooperation). She has theological training from the Universidad Bíblica Universitaria and is currently completing her Master's degree at the Universidad Centroamericana, in El Salvador. Her academic training, professional career, and family choice have led her to live in France, India, Costa Rica, and England. Currently, she works as Manager of Strategic and Theological Partnerships for Latin America and the Caribbean at Tearfund.


Mario Vega

Pastor of Elim Church in El Salvador, where he has served for the past 36 years. His thinking and influence have gone beyond the ecclesiastical sphere to extend into society. He is currently a member of the High-Level Inter-Institutional Commission to Guarantee Respect for Human Rights of the Salvadoran Foreign Ministry. The author of several books, he is well known for his theological competence and commitment to an integral approach to the Gospel. He is married and the father of one son. He resides in San Salvador, El Salvador.


Analía Milanessi

Married to Pablo and mother of Oli and Lino. Member and part of the presbitery of the Union Church of Mar del Plata. Architect. Professor of Architecture at the National University of Mar del Plata. Currently specializing in University Teaching.
